Contract hire - good idea?
#1
Further to previous posts regarding financing cars, I was wondering what people's thoughts/experiences were of contract hire. I am about to go sign a three year contract hire on a P1, but a couple of negative comments regarding this have concerned me. Assuming I am happy to keep the car for the full term, is there anything else I should know about contract hire?
Cheers in advance,

Martin,
For the past 10 years I had cars on Contract Hire and my experiences were:
1) Are you on a full maintenance package?
2) What is the excess mileage charge?
3) Do they offer courtesy car when yours is being serviced?
4) Are you going through a manufacturer or other supplier (e.g. MEVC)?
5) Most Contract Hire companies wish to have the cars returned as supplied and do not like having cars modified.
6) What if any are the early termination charges>
PS If I think of anymore I'll post them here.
Richard.

I think Richards covered most of them... apart from sort of miles are you expecting to do each year?
Dont forget that company car tax will be changing, so it might be worth asking the fleet dept/accounts what it will work out to be, before you get hammered!
I hope this helps.....
