Question William Hills online Poker comps....

How long do they normally take online...say a 200 seat comp - is the winner decided in one night - how many rounds are there etc. Have checked their site but there seems to be very little information.

Thinking about playing in one tonight 7ish - but don't particularly want to still be playing at 3am

Anyone help ?

200 players usually takes a good few hours, if you're any good of course

you can play in the smaller tournaments, 10 people cost anything from $5 up to £100 i think if memory serves. These tend to last an hour or so, depending on how aggressive everyone is.

What entry fee tourney are you thinking of playing? the £2+.025 can take up to 3-4 hours if you win...buzz is great if you do well, but remember there are still alot of idiots in the small entry events, so try win early(but patient) , as lots go all in with nothing so there is still a small percentage chance that they can beat you with 8-3 offsuit!

the 5 pounds or 10 pound events are filled with better players...

or if you havent got that long play just a table sat game, lasts about an hour if you make it!

There's a big difference between free and real money play.

The lower priced tourneys are somewhere in between the two.

yeah i know - play a lot of poker with mates etc and i'm pretty decent.

certainly wouldn't be betting with an 8-5 offsuit

Get the book - Super System 2 by Don Bronsen (i think), really helpful if you're serious about poker.
