Going to New York- do i need a visa??
Hi,
Thinking of going to New York in about 4 weeks time and not sure if my boyfriend will need a visa. He's got a criminal record (drink driving and various fighting offences) and we've been told different things by different travel agents. Thomas cook says yes, Lastminute.com says no. I think he's got a new passport as he only renewed last year. Can anyone clarify if he will need one for me????
Thanks

You could chance it, if you get caught out you'll be on the next flight home. As it's New York that's just enough time to get drunk and start another fight.

nope, you'll fill a form out on the plane called a visa waiver form. as for the criminal record, i thought it was for certain offences that entries refused, drug dealing, smuggling international terrorism, that sort of thing

Get signed up with the IRA and murder a few Innocents.
Always wondered how Gerry Adams / Martin McGuiness answered the old "Are you a terrorist" on the Visa Form.
I'd take the advice and speak to the Embassy - The advice here is based on, if you're lucky, how things used to be .

Convictions- you DEFINATELY need a visa- If you have a conviction you are not eligible for entry under visa waiver program.
Have to visit the US embassy in london to get one.
