Appeal a parking ticket?
I';ve made this easier using my most excellent mspaint skills
My girlfriend has recieved a ticket. The car in question is the blue one in the diagram, all the other cars are red . She has recieved a ticket for not being within the lines which, as you can see, no one else was. therefore forcing her to park as such.
IS it worth trying her luck at appealing?

Technically fixed penalty tickets are illegal as theres an old law that states you can only be issued one in court. Apparently this does get you off tickets sometimes, but on the other hand they might just issue you a court summons...

If you have time on your hands there is a web site that will take you through the entire process of appeals. It will also detail all the rules that they have to obey in order to issue tickets.
Things like the fact that the double yellow lines have to be continuous, with no breaks or damage that stops them from being visible.
That the paint needs to go onto the kerbs from time to time
And that at both ends of the lines that have to be crossed off,
etc etc etc
If you can be bothered you can go there to and get some advice.....

As a message from someone who works very closely with the Local Councils Parking Unit, I would say always appeal Here they always take photo's, but luckily enough you might be able to see how the other cars are parked.
Worth a try anyway, and if you appeal it will hold at £30 until it's resolved
