Anyone got any tips re:choosing a fantasy football team.
Got a league going at work and first prize is £300.
Whats the best tactics.
*Put all your money on strikers?
*Go for a balanced squad?
*What area do you skimp on?
*Go for a striker from a smaller club cos they play every week?
Henry is the dearest player.(Its a copy of the Daily Star one)
Any advice?

1. get henry in your team is a must
2. pick a high scoring midfielder like Lampard and Shaun Wright Phillips
3. pick someone who supplies alot of assists like Downing who should be cheapish
4. Pick a keeper who doesnt conceed too many but dont go for an expensive 1, money better spent elsewhere
5. then pick the cheap defenders who play regually in strong teams i.e. Southgate, Riise, Upson, Samual depends on whos affordable could go for a chelsea defender as they'll be keeping clean sheets
6. Now weigh up how many players you need to buy left, divide the money you have left by that number, give you an idea on what left to spend on each player
7. up that budget slightly on the next striker.....
8. budget would have to be reassessed to pick the rest of your team....
Job done. stick to that plan and you'll be near the top come what may

Good advice.I've got Gerrard and Czech, plus Rise already and will shuffle the budget to get Henry. What about the other 2 strikers,i'm thinking of someone who is the main striker for a smaller club.

The Duke for wigan, scored 24 last season and is the only likely scorer for wigan this season if they can actually score a goal..Bargain at 2.5m
If you do the sun dream team it is worth getting players that the reporters like as you get 5 extra points for being star man..Henry,shearer,gerrard,lamp and JT are always good for that...

get my stats off the official premier league web site, tell you how they earned all their points last year etc....
Routledge would be a good cheap buy. should supply a few assists
Ledley King should be a cheap buy and a solid defender.
If it was me Id wait another week or so before submitting a team, still some big signings to hit the shores....
if shevchenko signs for chelsea you'll be kicking yourself if hes not in your team.... Also Edgar Davids could well be reasonably priced too if he comes to England on a free....

nar dont rate van nistlehorse... to be fair he scores, LOTS, although being injured last season didnt help his cause, didnt have that same scoring instinct. misses too many chance. really think this full season at Utd will prove to be Rooneys season. he was banging them in for fun at the end of last years term. think he'll be picking up where he left off... 14/1 on him being the prems top scorer aint a bad bet either
