Question Freeview

Having stopped my SKY subs a while back and never having had the urge to go back to them we have sat with the freebies from sky for some time now.
I see E4 has come to freeview and you seem to get more with Freeview than with the basic SKY so I went out and bought a box today (one with a HDD recorder)
I set it up tuned it and it has only picked up a handful of channels. I have only had a auto search so far but only these 6 or so channels appear every time.
This really is quite embarrassing as I used to install B&O kit for a living and came across -and solved- these problems all the time but it would appear that either my brain is in weekend mode or I have just lost the ability to retain knowledge due to old age.
I have had a quick shifty at digital spy and av forums but didn't come across anything conclusive.
Any ideas out there ?

Could well be an aerial issue. We had the same sort of issues until we got an external roof aerial. Cost about £100, that included the chap tuning in all the TV's and boxes in the house. Well worth the money.

Best place to find a good installer is to ask around good TV shops for their recommendations.

Channels are multiplexed in groups of six..... Looks as though you can only pick up one broadcast set of channels.

I've got the weirdest thing at the mo. I can receive E4+1 clear as day. But cannot receive E4 at all.

The aerial I'm using is ****e though.

Again; a different set of multiplexed channels. When this happens; why is it that the home shopping-type ****e always comes through as clear as can be eh?

E4 has only been available since the launch of BB (AFAIK). I've only had it for a few days

You might want to try a signal booster before climbing on the roof - it worked for me.
