A Funny Thing Happened .......
Makro, Reading - yesterday
The Trolley Collection Van was parked outside ....
Middle aged woman, drugged up or pissed or mentally disabled (not sure which it was but her eyes were glazed over!) climbed in and tried driving it off
I went up and she asked how to start it, I said it needed a key - she said Nah they don't and proceeded to flick a few switches, the thing rolled backwards - she looked shocked so I thought she would get out ...
But, NO!!!! ............ she flicked the switch to forward and shot off!!
This van had a trolley collection trailer on the back and she lifted that right in the air as she sped off around the car park!! Laughing her head off like a flaming looney!! Funny I thought ............... until I realised that I had parked the Scooby 'out-of-the-way' at the top of the Car Park - just where she was heading!!
Foooookin' hell she was driving straight for it!!
I could just see her using it as a roundabout!!
Ever experienced the terror of knowing something is going to go badly wrong??
Anyway, I breathed a sigh of relief as she past my car and took a left hook to head back towards the store!! Now with 3 Security Guards chasing her!!
Quite how she missed everything was amazing, watching the Security Guard hanging onto a runaway trolley van was a picture!!

Some bloke ran up to me as she was about to take his beloved Volvo's rear end off - and asked if she was with me!!
What?? Do I look like a looney lover
I am sure those Security Guards of £4:50 an hour don't get paid enough!!

The Security Guard finally pulled it up ............... amazingly, she was then seen walking into the store with a man and boy (husband and son maybe??)
Clearly she just did it and got away with it??? Weird??

It was probably like some of those things we would all like to do if we only had the brass neck to do it!
I bet she was enjoying doing it anyway
I always wanted to drive one of those ice scraper machines at Richmond Ice Rink when I was a lad, you could do 4 wheel drifts at each end of the rink!

Good grief Leslie .... I spent my youth at Richmond Ice Rink
I hope it was you that I sprayed with Ice as I showed off in front of the girls
And, yes, I had a kind of respect for her courage in just driving it off like that ..... I quite fancied a go myself

Yes I spent a lot of time there PSL, I was the bloke doing the double axels all over the place, unless I was chatting up the dollie birds in short skirts on the Arosa rink
Bet that brings back a memory or two.
