Question Parking ticket 'reminder' 6 months after event - No notice received at the time!!!

What to do about this?
We received a document from 'Parkwise' informing us of an 'alleged offence' in November! - Neither of the drivers of the car had seen a Parking ticket on this car ever!
6 months later they write to us telling us that the opportunity to pay £30 had passed 14 days after the notice was issued!
I made 'representations'...
I have today received a letter back saying I have 'till 20th May to pay £30 or it will go back up to £60...

Should I just pay up or argue the case?

Cheers

Mick

I'd ask to see a copy of the original ticket. Make sure that your tax disc number is clearly written on the ticket.

Its likely to be a scam if they have written "tax disc obscured". That is when a parking attendant sees that you have parked illegally, but has not been able to issue a ticket legitimately. Eg, he sees you in the distance, parked illegaly, takes your reg and just issues the ticket without ever approaching the car.

There was a documentatry on TV about this recently. Not sure how you fight it though. I suppose you just ask for proof, see what they send, and then make a defence case. Let them take you to court, and hope that they cannot be bothered to do so.

Yes... Makes it easier to pay and be done with it! Weasels!

- Like the 'parcel' idea

Actually parking is much improved in the town now due to stricter enforcement! - You can pop in to the bank or whatever and quite often get a free 30 min parking place quite close - makes those sort of jobs MUCH easier!

LOL @ Poo Parcels

When I was 18 I went through a stage of 'collecting' peopls parking tickets from their windscreens after football matches and placing them lovingly in local litter bins... Whilst not a common game this may have happened to you...
If it did - it wasnt me for I am no longer such a menace
