Ruth Kelly..........Liar?????
Now we see her on TV today:
Interviewer: So, Mrs Kelly, why has it taken a TV chef to get ministers and the government to take the problem of school dinners seriously?
RK: Well actually, on the day I took this job, I said I wanted to do something about the problem of school dinners................
Yeah right!
That's why there was nowt in the budget and YOU refused to talk about it afterwards.
How long before this **** starts telling us it was HER (his??? Is she a man???) idea???
And people wonder why I call 'em "Lying Labour"

I just thought what a typical politician! Never answered any of the questions put to her - like, well how much will you be spending on school meals then???? She was a b£**dy good advert to vote Tory ...

PS: she doesn't half look like a bloke ....

I thought she was a bloke when I glanced up at the screen
Incredibly good at evading the questions - she didn't answer a single one! However UB, I don't think she is 'lesbo scum' as you so eloquently put - she's married with 4 kids IIRC but I bet they all go to private school (where old enough) where kitchens are for cooking, not assembly lines and where more than 37p is spent per meal

Too easy to say isn't it, does she honestly think we are going to believe that!
As usual they will tell us a grand plan to change it all for the better and nothing will come of it!

And was it me or did she look just totally scruffy ? Ie an embarrasment to us a nation. All this cool continental style with new labia but she looked the sterotypical scruffy lesbian in her choice of clothing. Didnt even look like she had brushed her hair !

But what has that got to do with anything? Surely judgment on her ability as Education Minister should be based on how she guides the government to provide the majority of the nation's schoolchildren with a decent environment in which to learn and develop (including food), and not where she chooses to have her own children educated?
The future "standards" to which the government is refering are riduculous. There are "standards" set for food in hospitals; brochures about the menu choices are placed at each patient's bedside, but the actual quality of the food delivered falls way short of what is prescribed (haha). The same would happen in schools. Catering ends up being outsourced, all actual cooking is done offsite, and food is delivered pre-cooked and then warmed/ruined before being distributed to patients/schoolkids. The food on the plates is then disgusting and people wonder why the kids don't want to eat it.
In the final analysis, if people want their kids to eat better they'll have to pay more tax so that LEAs can afford to pay more than 37p for a child's lunch.

We will continue to get this type of politician as long as we continue with party politics. Ban the Party system and their is no party line to tow. No whips to make your MP do as they are told or else only the electorate to please...
