Hope you didn't hand the keys over yet !!
I hear that there are foreign bankers drafts out there that appear to clear your account so you hand over keys, days / weeks later the foreign issuing bank flags the draft as stolen so refuses payment ??

No I still have the motor but I am still furious. You know what its like when you think the deal is done and you start looking at your 'next' car for it all to come to nothing.

I was talking in the office about this, how to take payment for a car.
We came up with the best surefire way of doing it, was to go to the bank with the buyer and sort the money there by either cash (counted and checked by the bank) or a CHAPS (telex) transfer, which unlike a BACS transfer cannot be stopped or returned.
