Default When did Ireland change to km/h

When did this happen

confusing at first, as the speed is very visible, the km/h is tiny below the speed itself

Lots of adverts on TV, and leaflets with km/h conversion stickers for your car too !!!

It was just over a week ago they changed, and lowered some speed limits for safety reasons. Care to guess how long before Rospa or similar argue for the same change here...............

They have been doing the distance conversion for ages, gets confusing when the sign chop and change between miles and km and with no units on the sign, you have no idea how far you have left to go or if you have taken a wrong turn and ended up further away

Divide Km by 10 and multiply by 6, Not 100% accurate but close.

You're making a dangerous assumption about peoples ability to do sums, Les.

Driving on the left will be next. Fun and games?

Most of the Irish chaps I know drive on the left anyway...

...mainly on a friday night though

Assume this is only Southern Ireland though and not Northern Ireland as well?

Most I know drive on the left with the occasional lapse onto the right being reserved for the weekend. Or if really stuck, keep white line between wheels!

The funny thing is that they're still phasing in the KM/H thing - it's still MPH in places

I LOVE Ireland (grew up there )
