One of the best Sci-fi books ever. I still read it (in fact this has inspired me to take it on holiday this year and read it again).
Great film aswell. One of Lynch's most accessible (apart from The Straight Story and The Elephant Man)
Never heard of a second film though. I've read the rest of the books in the series and tbh they're a bit dissapointing - not a patch on Dune.

Ive just bought the film in hmv following this thread lol!!!
I got the 2 disc Special Edtion Box Set. Includes 32 page booklet.
Although it appears to be the 137min long Directors Cut and not the 190min Special Edition it claims to be! Sound is only Dolby 5.1 or 2.0 - Yuk! Which means i cant set the surround sound up for it properly.
Nice box though

Just read that the 190min version is the televised version containing outtakes and newly commisioned sets/material anyway. Which David Lynch disowned and put his name to it as Alan Smithee, and credited himself as Judas Booth for the screenplay.
