David Beckham has allegedly been stopped for speeding......anyone want to open a book on what the excuse is this time??
<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:<HR>From the BBC:
<B>Football star David Beckham has allegedly been stopped for speeding on the M6 in the West Midlands.
The England and Manchester United player is reported to have been stopped while travelling north on the motorway between Cannock and Stafford late on Wednesday night.
It is understood he was issued with a fixed penalty ticket for speeding, which means he will have to pay a £60 fine within the next three days and will receive three points on his driving licence.
West Midlands police have confirmed that a 25-year-old man was stopped, but say it is not force policy to reveal his identity.
Ban overturned
In December 1999, Beckham won an appeal against an eight-month driving ban imposed after he was convicted of driving his £150,000 Ferrari at 76mph in a 50mph zone.
He said he was trying to escape a paparazzi photographer who had tailed him for 10 miles from his home in Alderley Edge, Cheshire.
Judge Barry Woodward, at Manchester's Minshull Street Crown Court, returned Beckham's driving licence, ruling there were "special circumstances" that had caused him to break the speed limit.
But he upheld the footballer's speeding conviction.
The midfield star, who at the time already had 10 points on his licence, had been fined £800 and ordered to pay £190 costs in addition to the driving ban.
It is not known what car Beckham was driving at the time of Wednesday's alleged incident, but as well as the Ferrari, he owns a Range Rover and a Porsche.
He was believed to be returning to his Alderley Edge home where he lives with his Spice Girl wife Victoria and their baby son Brooklyn.[/quote]

He looked in the rear mirror and was sure that some strange man (who looked just like him) was right behind him.
The faster he went, the more worried he was as this stalker was right in his rear view mirror.

He told the copper that Man U were just about to sign a deal with the government to allow Alex F to manage the police as well,so they had jolly well better let him off or they would be in trouble!!

He does'nt need an excuse. He's famous and almost part of the 'new' proleteriat royal family. Therefore he is covered under the Road Traffic Act Amendement Sept 2000. Which says.
Section 12.5
"No personages involved in government or members of the Manchester United football club or their assigned deputies can be prosecuted for speeding/drink driving or other moving traffic offenses."
Subsection 13.4a also states
"The normal rules of 'totting up' do not apply to persons who fall under section 12.5. These persons will be given 'infinate lives' as pertaining to their status in civilised society."
BTW This is not a dig at the police, more like the CPS which I know is responsible for more poor morale in the force than almost everything else put together.

I Heard a good one the other day:
Why did David Beckham shave his head?
Coz someone told Victoria that she would be more attractive to men if she shaved her Tw*t.
Well it made me laugh anyway!

The officer pulled over Beckham and asked him what speed he was doing.
I have no idea - the training today was thirsty work and I have been staring at this carton of orange juice on the seat beside me - so I have no idea what speed I was doing.
Well that is stupid Sir, why were you not paying attention to the road??
It's not my fault, look, the carton says 'Concentrate'!!!!
