You should move further north, to Auckland.

That way you only have to worry about hundreds of volcanos.

Is Old Mother Earth getting herself revved up for something big ? Yosemete is 35,000 years overdue isn't it, and that would take care of most of the US ? And Tiede (sp?) in the Canaries is bubbling too. If she blows the resulting landslide and subsequent tsunami will make the Indian Ocean one look feable (not to dilute the severity of that situation ).

If the Yosmite volcanoe / fault blows is predicted to have a huge effect on the entire world due to the resulting climatic changes it will bring about. Destroying bits of the U.S. is the least of it.
At least that's how I remember it from a Horizon or Equinox documentry I saw some time ago. Could blow any day

I remember a similar documentry on the Canaries timebomb and how the resulting Tsunami will wipe out large parts of the eastern seaboard of the U.S. Again the economic reprecussions would be huge as well as the tragic loss of life involved.

So might as well enjoy life to the full now
