WTF is all that about?

Water company said they were changing my meter outisde my house, to comply withe Electricity Act

I cannot be home when they want to come round due to work etc

Basiacally they will come round when then want and affect entry to get at the meter to change it, as you cannot give them a date/time when is convenient
Just leave the bit bull roaming free in the garden and don't forget a very little sign telling them

I had similar regarding my gas meter a while. They'd only just stuck a new bl**dy meter box on the outside wall of my garage for all to see after a gas leak. Then they went through various levels of threatening notes/letters culminating in one that said they'd applied to a JP for entry. I wrote back to their CE stating they already knew I'd had the meter moved from inside the house and that they would pay if they broke anything.

Heard nothing more but got a surprisingly acute bill a couple of weeks later.

Write them a nice letter saying they don't know they're **** from they're elbow and they will not require access to read the meter.

The note British Gas leaves is pure comedy, it generally reads 'we came around WITHOUT prior arrangement to check your meter but you weren't in (surprise surprise). We are now applying for permission to enter your property' wtf, do their phones not work unless there trying to pester you into buying something you don't want

Leave a big sarcastic note on your doors telling them the meter is definitely outside your house. Oh, and draw a cute map for the **** bandits showing surrounding features and areas of natural beauty in your garden, including a big fat red arrow pointing to the meter, because they're sure to get confused by a simple note.

Seriously though, you best do something! Saw Watchdog a while ago and they ran a report about the Gas/Elec & Water companies having more powers than the police to gain access to people houses!
