Whats the chances of...........
Me getting the same punishment as the Police Chief in charge of traffic in Greater Manchester ?????
He was clocked doing 104mph on the M6 toll rd near Birmingham, same speed as me see here
http://bbs.scoobynet.co.uk/showthread.php?t=385515
and all he got was 6 points and a £450 fine.
It appeared on the BBC NEWS internet site on Thurs 29th April 04 and for some reason i printed it off, after clearing out some of the crap from my office draws tonight i came across this little bit of info again.
Now should i enlighten the judges to this before then deal out my sentence or just leave it till afterwards ??
In his statement he said
"On the day in question, the driving and road conditions were good, and i was part of a group of 15 cars all doing around the same speed"
he then goes on to say
"I considered that my manner of driving was safe. However, exceeding the speed by this amount is unacceptble and i sincerely regret my error of judgment"
Im still waiting to receive my sumons, does any one know how long these take ???

Well the summons has to be issued within six months. So it could be anywhere up to June. I'm not so sure about handing the article into the court. You are certainly entitled to, and I'm sure any solicitor would if the circumstances were the same. You might be able to get advice on that from the CAB. What is you driving record like?

I would consider speaking to either CAB or a solicitor (I'm not sure but I think the first consultation is free) about handing the article in to the court. It would count as relevant caselaw as far as I am aware.
