moved house 0n the 3rd dec took till now to get my broadband up and running!

They made me wait 7 days before enabling the broadband because of some competition laws. If another broadband supplier wants to enable broadband on a BT line, they have to go through BT and are quoted 7 days lead time as standard, so BT have to apply this to their customers too. Absolutely stupid to apply this to existing customers in the middle of a 12 month contract though!

Write to Ofcom and explain how you would prefer BT to be free to leverage their position to give you a better service then.

Yup, when i moved house it took them 2 minutes to move my phone line and 5 weeks to move my broadband.
