are there any pics out there of the tsunami wave as it came in?
can't say i've seen any myself, or any video footage come to that, of the actual wave before it hit the shoreline.
just curious as to what it looked like, not on a sicko level by the way. just trying to comprehend what a 30 odd foot wall of water looks like.

and obviously they're showing the aftermath rather than the impact event.caught a tiny bit of a camcorder footage the other day but didn't see alot more than a hell of a lot of rushing water rather the actual wave itself.

skanky dial up is preventing me from seeing too much of the vid clips but that is certainly scary to watch, the clip with the multiple waves where you can hear laughing as a few largish waves hit the shore that soon turns to running feet along with crashing water gives a little idea of how quick it all happened.

morbid and voyueristic I know, but couldnt help watching these vids and more on searches. Goes to show how laid back things were before the waves hit and how very very quickly they lead to utter devestation and death.

Do a Google for Ogrish, they have some nasty stuff on there re: tidal wave.
Be warned though, that site has some other very disturbing videos & photos, if you have kids send them out the room.

Sky News had some very dramatic pics on their website yesterday which showed big waves, brought it home far more than the video footage shown on the tv news to date, the waves in the pics were enormous and showed a family running away from them but experts believe its very unlikely they would have got out the way in time, the mother was running out to meet them - very upsetting pics
