Yeah, but it's nothing amazing.
It is 600 pictures stitched together taken using a normal pro-sumer digital camera. It's not a 2.5Gpixel image sensor (which is what I thought it was initially!).
Anyone can stitch together 600 pictures if they really want to.....

The camera is mounted on a precision computer controlled pan & tilt tripod. It moves the tripod as it takes the 600 photos.
Nothing amazing.
