A 1 Gigapixel pcture!

Zoomed into the middle of the picture right up close to some scafolding, the level of detail is 
the zoom is amazing

Yeah, but it's nothing amazing.
It is 600 pictures stitched together taken using a normal pro-sumer digital camera. It's not a 2.5Gpixel image sensor (which is what I thought it was initially!).
Anyone can stitch together 600 pictures if they really want to.....
