Key/Immobiliser issues 2003 Impreza wagon
Key fob ( single button) not locking/unlocking doors or firing up engine on 2003 Impreza Wagon.
Replaced fob battery -no change. Disconnected/ reconnected main battery - no change. Long depressing day of "sorry can't help you" phone calls with automotive Key specialists.
Chatted with Scooby expert who advised me that it is likely a failed immobiliser unit "a common problem" He suggests bypassing the unit and having a new alarm installed.
I have been quoted £600 for this!
Anyone got any advice on how to get around this issue with less expense?
PS I can get into the car by turning key in lock. I only have one key. But I do have the immobiliser code.
Cheers

As you have the PIN code for the alarm check out replies for "Teaching New Radio Transmitters to the Security System" in

I gave up in the end with the Sigma OEM on my late model classic because whatever I did it was problematic. Had a Cobra fitted on my drive by someone who knew what he was doing for £450.
