Try as I might, I can't spot anything, er, interesting. Pretty impressive though.

Very  Zoomed into the middle of the picture right up close to some scafolding, the level of detail is

Brian the Sn@il 24 November 2004 07:36 PM

MOK79 24 November 2004 07:37 PM

bloody hell :eek2: the zoom is amazing

imlach 24 November 2004 07:40 PM

Yeah, but it's nothing amazing.

It is 600 pictures stitched together taken using a normal pro-sumer digital camera. It's not a 2.5Gpixel image sensor (which is what I thought it was initially!).

Anyone can stitch together 600 pictures if they really want to.....

Did you see the girl in the window, in the flat with the red roof tiles, about two miles behind the crane?

nice.

Are you saying that someone went up there, divided the "photo" we see into a grid and then took 600 pictures?

Jerome 24 November 2004 08:46 PM

It is obviously not a single picture - look at the road to the right. There is a car inside the back of a bus (which has a white top)... :)

Brun 24 November 2004 08:52 PM

Well spotted :)

apples24 24 November 2004 08:53 PM

Effectively, yes.
The camera is mounted on a precision computer controlled pan & tilt tripod. It moves the tripod as it takes the 600 photos.

Nothing amazing.

One of the cranes could do with a bit of maintainance. ;)
