Yes, it is an Umarex.
It's an air pistol. A smith and wesson 586 6". It fires .177cal pellets.
I bought it from these guys...
http://www.airgunbuyer.com/Showprodu...=CO2%20Pistols
along with a red dot sight, the rail to attach it, 1000 pellets, a target/pellet catcher, some targets, 3 spare magazines and 50 powerlets (little co2 cannisters that fit in the grip)
£210 all in.
It'll put a pellet straight through an unopened coke can at 10m.
if u get one, get the red dot, i was cack without it.
If you want one, it's the one to go for. It's the best of the 'replica' type co2 pistols. Apparently it's the non target gun of choice around the clubs at the moment. And my garden
It's a .357 magnum replica btw

Whoa, they got some serious **** on that site!
Do you have to keep them locked up or something? Do your neighbours not ring the police????
What is the law regarding this stuff, think I'll buy one, but I live in central London, so can't see it going down well in Hyde Park. Can you put them in the boot of the car and what not?
Cheers mate, happy shootin'!

There is an inherant design flaw with Umarex CO2 pistols, the main spring in the valve body is too long, this restricts the emptying of the CO2 cannister to about 60 shots or so

Laws cool. You don't need to keep it locked up. You don't need a fire arms certificate. You can put it in your car (no powerlet and unloaded.)
You only need a f.a.c. when you go over a certain power level. I think it's 6ft/lbs for pistols and 12 for rifles. Everything on that site is under the max. limit.

ok, 60 shots is dividing the contents of the CO2 cartridge by 60.
a litre of CO2 at room temp and pressure weighs about 2 grammes, the CO2 guns use 12gram capsules so there's about 6 litres of gas per capsule, or at 60 shots approx 100cc of gas per shot.
now divide 6000cc by 8 shots less is more ya?
some bloke in the pub told me.

maybe i'm being stupid.
What is the upshot of this problem you're talking about?
why would I divide 6000cc by 8 shots?
it shoots fine for 50 shots from a powerlet. I've not tried 50-60 yet, just emptied the gas out by shooting without ammo

Not only is it difficult to distinguish from a .357 magnum (you'd need to be looking closely inside the barrel or at the magazine) I imagine you could do some serious damage if you loosed 10 rounds into someone

Thats why you need 8 shots only out of one CO2 capsule

come round to mine and we'll see how your track suit does
it's a 10 shot magazine
and if you only got 8 shots out of a capsule it would be illegal without an f.a.c. aswell as just silly.

Hello
I have an Anics 3000 and I don't think it would do too much damage to a burglar unless as mentioned above you aimed for the face. Then you would certainly upset them. And the Anics has a 28 shot magazine. And to be really honest, I hope I never, ever, have to find out.
Steve.

Toytown's answer to Charles Bronson
thing is, in my book, if someone waves a gun about (toy or otherwise) they deserve to be shot with a real gun. (which is prob what plod would do to you mate)
keep your gun in the house, or you're asking for trouble.
happy and safe shooting.

I have a dilemma over this thread.....
Whilst I have played with air rifles et al with target practice - the idea of making a replica handgun, in this case a Magnum, and then allowing anyone to buy one & use one anywhere they like just doesnt seem right.
If you were woke up in bed one night with a hooded bloke pointing one of those at you, saying 'give us the car keys or the missus gets it' - how would you feel......air gun or not!!
P.S It *IS* a cool gun by the way - just not sure it's right.....

I'd have to say if someone pointed one at me, i'd **** my load.

For two, I wouldn't fancy pulling a .177 on a thieving ****** only to have them pull a real gun or effing great knife on me - talk about wishing you'd not done it.
For three, you'd get spanked by the law for sure. Look at those poor guys who get done for over-enthusiastically holding someone down while they wait for the police to arrive at a scene.
It takes the p!ss but it's the way this country operates with the super Criminal Protection System (CPS) we have in place..
Have fun with it anyway, airguns are great fun when used responsibly... And even more fun when not

Must say, I'm with Dr Hu. I can imagine the local 13 yr olds going into the village post office with one of these after borrowing it off big bruvver. It doesn't take a genius to work out that, even if the 70 yr old postie can figure out it's a fake, they can still point the laser dot in his eye (blinding him) and put a pellet into it.
Still, the police shot a guy carrying a table leg in Hastings, so I don't regret them perforating someone carrying one of these in public.
Hey - enjoy it in your back garden!
