Noooooo. Spend the £600 on mods (assuming it's fuel and not insurance costs). You can claim some of your road tax back by filling out a SORN form if it's stored off a public road as well.

i was thinking of trading it in for a Focus ST2....(on a voucher)

Sell the Focus straight away then at just below book value... Make myself a lil profit
