DVLA - What are they playing at??
Today I've recieved a V5 for my scoob.
Which is odd, as I never asked for one, and still have the original. And no letter explaining anything...just a v5!
So now have two V5's for the same car.
What do I do - chuck the old one, keep them, or phone them up and ask what they are playing at?

Hahaha DVLA, muppets ... received a letter through the post for my missus new car.
It basically said that the V5 they had issued for her new car contained incorrect details, could she please return it and they would issue a correct one .... hmmmm ... what V5 would that be, she hasn't had one .. phone them up and after 20 mins get to the bottom of it .... the original V5 they sent her does have a mistake. It has her address wrong
So if they sent it to the wrong address how are we supposed to send it back ?
.. and more worryingly how come they managed to get her address correct when they sent her a letter ?
Sheer genius
Doofus.

But I thought they would be doing it on an "as and when" basis when a keeper sent off the old one to be changed. Like they did the last time they messed about with it.
If they are adopting a "replace them all regardless" strategy, you'd think at least they'd send an acompanying letter explaining what they are doing

Yeah, I am trying to remember where I saw this. The Mrs lost her V5 a week or two ago (the joys of moving house and packing everything away) so I got a form to apply for a new one. I think that's where I saw it, but I could be wrong

The new document you received may have been V5C, this is to replace all existing V5 docs. They have been issued since Jan 2004 and everyone will receive one in time.
