Paris Hotel
Anyone got recommendation for a Paris Hotel.
2 nights in september. Would like to be "in the centre" i.e. easy to walk to the tourist spots
Happy to pay £100->£200 i guess.
Would prefer a nice quality informal place rather than anything overly pretentious.

I am about to book a 3 night break in Paris for next month, staying in a 4 star hotel (not that that means bugger all), going on the eurostar works out at £285 per person, sits on the Champs Elysées. Seems pretty good to me
Hotel is called, Marignan-Elysées Sofitel Demeure - got my price from www.bridge-travel.co.uk
all the best

Probably not much help but last time i went i slept in the car in an underground car park not far from the Champs Elysee. It was heated, well lit, and even had soft music piped in - quite nice really.
Swindon to Paris and back in 23 hours, including going up the Eiffel Tower, having a meal and some beers, and loading up with duty free on the way home. Top road trip!

Stay around the 9eme arrondissement
close to everything - Champs Elysees, Louvre, Bldv Haussman
We're off for 3 days in Sept, got the flights & hotel for £385 for 2 adults.

Others may not agree but I found Paris to be a lot less expensive than London for many things, including hotels and taxis. You can actually afford to get into a taxi in Paris! If you are paying £100 - £200 per night then you should get a nice hotel. I have stayed in nice, if basic, places for £60 per night that I would probably have paid at least £150 for in London at full rate.
To be honest a weekend in Paris is less expensive for me than a weekend in London.

I prefer the latin quarter myself, just down from the cathedral notre dame. Walking distance from the lovely art galleries and boutiques of st germain, and great nightlife and restaurants etc.
