Default Got maggots on my patio.

Due to our council only collecting bins every two weeks weve got a build up of maggots in our wheelie bin. Theyve escaped overnight and are now all over the patio. What can I do to kill the things in the bin?

Chip.

Any standard insecticide will kill them, they are only fly larvae afterall!

Don't worry, those you don't kill in the next 48 hours will fly away :-)

I had the same problem, i ended up say bollox to recycling and use both bins as general runbbish now as they keep refusing to empty my bin properly if the lid is not fully shut. I turned the whole bin out and poured boiling water and bleach in it then double bagged all the rubbish and put it back in, smells lovely and fresh now

Make friends with an angler and you can charge him to collect them...

It's not as nice as having two lips on your organ.

or get the strimmer out and splat the little buggers everywhere

there was this stuff i got from a pest control company called 'Deathlac' that was to stop ants getting in, i think it was supposed to work on slugs too,so might do for maggots?
might only be available to the trade but bloody good stuff, spray onto the ground and anything that crossed the line of where you sprayed croaked
