Hayfever - Am I Starting With It ?

Hayfever - Am I Starting With It ?
For the past 2 weeks I have been getting a really big build up of large, dry, crusty bogeys (Sorry for the detail but I want to get to the bottom of this !)
Would this have anything to do with me stopping smoking (have been stopped about 2 months now) or is there a higher pollen count than usual this year ? I don't seem to be getting any other symptoms either, no coughing/sneeezing etc
I would rather spend 2 mins on Scoobynet asking the question than bothering my doctor...
Thanks in advance...

Could be due to the stopping smoking.
Nicotene flattens the respiratory protecting hairs in the nose and the throat (Cillaryescalator). Go without nicotene and the hairs start to stand up both in the nose and in the throat. The hairs standing up in the throat with all the *** gunge is the reason for smokers cough in a morning, the hairs have started to stand up. Having a morning *** causes the lungs protection system to lie down defenceless again and smokers stop coughing and feel better.
It takes a few months after you stop smoking for all you respiratory defence systems to get back to normal. Maybe the cause of your problems.

Thanks logiclee thats very interesting.
I did think it was coincidental that it happened not long after I gave the cancer sticks up...
Do you think there would be naything I could take for it as I'm sick of picking my nose ! (I wonder if I'm picking it more - could it be my bodys way of coping without cigs )

It may be natures way of giving you something to do with your hands now you don't have to hold the ****.
If you think it may be because of an allergy try some Rhinolast Nasal Spray. I get Hayfever bad and this stuff is excellent.
Sorry can't be of more help.
Cheers

I started to suffer hayfever for the first time last year at the ripe old age of 36. Been particularly bad this year . Didn't know you could develop it later in life until I spoke to the doc. Incidentally, I packed in the **** a few years ago.

Haha no way! I'm sneezing my head of this year too, never been a problem before. I've worked on a farm all my life and never had so much as a sneeze, how odd is that!
And ive never smoked!

I suggest scratching your **** more frequently.
You tend to find that you pick your nose less often.
Thats what NHS direct said
