b-day prezzie for wife, please help
Dear Scoobynet,
It's that time of the year again, and as usual I haven't come up with anything, and will be in deep **** come Saturday... I need to figure out some cool presents, but they can't be insanely expensive as I'm a bit of a useless hubbie (I.e. always broke ). The total budget is 100 quid, max.
Now, she's not overly keen on jewellry, but likes cute things. I asked if she'd like a worming kit this year, but she just looked at me blankly
Already given her a personalized bear and a toaster+kettle+sandwich grill box(that one went down particularly well!!).
I have actually managed to pick one hint up (!), she might like a new hand bag, and she showed me some funky thing on www.kitsch.co.uk, but I can't bloody remember which one (See above re my husband qualities...)
Matters are made slightly worse this year too, as I've already made her buy a car she now deeply hates, so in order to see christmas, I would like to somehow make up for it.
Please help, I don't want to die.
/Henrik

My wife wanted me to lose weight as a present for her. Downside is I need to shed 8kgs and will have to pay her 1,000 Euros per kilo of failure come mid-September. Four down and still four to go...
Back on topic, in addition to getting her the wrong bag, why not get the girl a couple of music dvds (her taste not yours, mind) and also a lovely bunch of flowers on the day. Don't know what it is about birds and blooms, but it's always worked for me!

Flowers are always received well
Not knowing what type of woman you are married to makes it a little difficult
How about a pampering day somewhere, or massage/facial at a local salon - anything nice for her that she wouldn't normally do for herself, something that would make her feel special.
Does she wear perfume? (although this can get a little tricky)
Trip to the theatre with a nice meal? (& you get to enjoy it too )

TelBoy: that is one seriously cool pen, she'd love that
Huxley Chick: She's not really a salon type bird, unfortunately... Did a musical last year, and i never hear the end of it because it was one that both of us wanted to see (so it was a present for myself, because i wasn't in agony all the time )
I'm thinking maybe I should treat her to beer and the quarter finals in front of the telly? Will that work?
Maybe i should get her some flowers sent to her work place on Friday, and thus spread her birthday out over two days? I've also ordered this: http://www.kitsch.co.uk/yum_pop.htm which I think she'll like. Will have to get her something else too... keep the ideas coming folks

OK - this is a bit off the wall but stay with me....
Recreate your early days together. Create a sort of treasure hunt with clues to the next place you're going to. Take her back to somehwere you used to live, a pub you used to go to, a greatest hits CD by a band you used to listen to, the first movie you went to see on DVD - that sort of thing. Maybe end up at either a) the first place you ate out (unless that was McDonalds in which case b) a seriously posh restaurant.
Remind her she's still your girlfriend and not just your wife.
Would def work for me (can someone mention this to IM..? )
Good luck!

Have you thought of giving her an expensive Aromatherapy full body massage session ( at some professional massaur, not you ! ) as a pressie and the same evening ,take her out for a very nice meal somewhere special.Dont forget to add a bunch of bright red roses. For keepsake- that teddy with the goggles!
It should all fit in within £ 100 quid.Hope so.

Try and work out what funky bag she would like from that website, some roses, fave box of chocs and dinner for two at a nice venue (doesn't have to be fancy) OR What about a short weekend break somewhere nice? Is that over £100?!!!

Mine was easy, got her a spoiler for her MX-5! Cost me more than your budget tho, sorry.
Take her somewhere nice for dinner, preferably at the end of a twisty mountain road so you can treat her to a ride in the scooby!
