which property websites do you use?
Hi,
Having had a bad experience with a sole agent, I've recently placed my property up for sale with a few agents and I was interested in finding out how well they're promoting it online.
If you know of a national property website or have used one recently, could you post the link on here (or PM it to me) so I can see if my property is listed?
Thanks in advance,
Jules

Try asserta homes - http://www.asserta.com/1/ah/home.do - it is associted with google, so put in Homes or Property in Google and it usually appears in the featured list. This is a meta engine that includes Right Move, Your Move and many others

Run by over 500 local newspapers and their properties go onto MSN, Yahoo, AOL and SKY interactive.
Great site (IMHO)

Another decent top-level property search.
As has been mentioned, rightmove is probably the best.
I'm still stunned though, how these estate agents expect you to wade through hundreds of properties and express an insterest in something costing SO much money, when the details they provide you - ESPECIALLY grainy, low-res, ****e photos - are so poor!!!
Loads of properties don't even have ANY photos.
Am I supposed to go and view a property based on a description like this:
"3BED, SEMI, GCH, Good location, Parkingx1, Double Glazing"
If I was selling a house, I'd make sure they had LOADS of great photos of the place and as a buyer, it would certainly impress me if they'd made the effort...
Or am I the only one who feels like this

Having recently bought a house I would say that Rightmove is definetly the biggest and most widely used. However in my area the biggest estate agent doesnt advertise on their which suprised me, so dont focus 100% on there as you may miss out.
I agree about the ad's. If it hasnt got a picture then I didnt look at it. Decent pics are a must and I would always go for the virtual tour as well. The ad of our house had a virtual tour of the garden, kitchen and lounge, stills of other rooms and the floor plans with all dimensions etc.
I cant believe that people pay so much money to estate agents for selling a house yet they dont even get online and check the quality of the ad.
Simon.
