English only...

English only...
Quite a provacative and some might say racist statement.
But I've just watched the back end of Radio One's live music 2004 Beautiful Night from Ulster. Every act, guest and presenter were Irish...
Coupled with the fact that on the same tape was a copy of last years' MOBO (Music Of Black Origin) awards ceremony taped ny my daughter.. A whole night celebrating Black music, with black presenters and a black audience etc...
Before I put my flame suit on, I don't have a single problem with both those programmes, what they stand for and what they are trying to promote. In fact, I enjoyed them very much. Especially Geldoff doing 'I Don't Like Mondays' and 'Rat Trap', Brilliant. I also think there should be more of it.. Cultural diversity and all that...
But is it just me thinking that there'd be so much crap flying if we had a BBC prime time evening dedicated to and celebrating just white, English music? With the only presenters being purposely white and English as we flew the George cross in the background?
Before you say it, the proms is different in that it is British; No colour, background or nationality segregation..
I'm not trying to stir it.. I'm just wondering why I feel slightly nervous even posting this?

Enough about ex-pats James!
The MOBO thing does get to me sometimes. If there was a similar white only event then there would be absolutle uproar, it'd never be allowed to happen!
However, I usually just kick back and play some DMX and it chills me right out

Yep personally I am not keen on r and B, Garage and Urban so for me being a white middle class boy an event without any of that king of music would be welcome, not to exclude anyone but to target my listening more easily.
PS, DISCLAIMER, White people make **** music as well as anybody.

Why is it ,when someone post a debateable(sp?) thread , that the obvious few have to infect it with their childish ,bull$hit.
The MOBO awards are a bit out of touch, and who can tell which music is "Of Black Origin" ??
Sterotypically speaking M.O.B.O would be mainly reggae and possibly banging oil drums to any rythm they see fit.
M.O.W.O would be no better though..
possibly a few over weight guys , dancing with bells on their socks
