Has anyone used the Boots service?

http://www.boots.com/features/featur...icleId=1002124

Just wondering about it, got 50 images @ at total of 63MB(1.20mb each). I want them printed off but not sure how good the quality of the prints etc are

Any advice?

Cheers people

i use bonus print and it convinced me that getting a colour printer would be a waste of money- we have had some big enlargements made (sort of twice a4 size) and the quality is faultless and dirt cheap and very quick all done online.

If your local Boots has a on site processing lab they have an offer on at the moment.
You can get 50 6*4 prints done for £5, we just had 150 pics done.
I don't think you can cheaper than 10p a print for 6*4.

Do you know how long this offer lasts? I've got to get a whole load printed out soon.

I thought they had that offer on too actually. I knew i saw it at Xmas but i dont go into the city that much. Ill have to investigate that. Do they print straight off the media its stored on?

Cheers

The printing process itself is the same as for 35mm. The mini-labs scan in 35mm negatives digitally, and then print them from a digital image. Bringing in your digital media basically bypasses this scanning process and goes straight to the printer.....so NO difference in printing quality as for 35mm.

Assuming you have a good resolution (>2MP) at 6"x4" you won't see much, if any, difference from 35mm.

The quality is FAR better than home colour printers, and also it is on proper photographic paper, so the images should last decades with no fading....works out cheaper than home printing usually these days once you take into account decent archival ink, decent photo paper, etc.

You'd be struggling to do 50 6"x4" prints on a home printer for £5.

super si, you can put your images on CD and take them to boots. If they are on a mem card you have to get them all printed as they cant select individual pics AFAIK.

Just used boots with the 50 for £5 and you cant fault it. I have also used http://www.photobox.co.uk/ not looked at prices between the two but i would say boots will be best option.
