So start again. Your choice to view your 5 days without as a failure or a trial period.
Up to now, your "personal best" is 5 days without. See if you can beat it.
Extra brownie points for not drinking on Fridays or Saturdays!
Good luck.

Why quit?
On the other hand the only way I've ever had any self control was after I started going to the gym and taking that seriously...after 3 or 4 weeks of 4 times a week at the gym you start to see results and 'get into it', then ignoring empty caloried temptations like beer and chocolate becomes much easier.

Chuckster (not strength training btw, just trying to keep the old heart n lungs strong...getting on you know!)

Or try becks alcohol free or something. Never tried it myself, but looks the part, and prob tastes not bad.
When doing atkins, I did a similar thing. Bought some low-cal tonic water, and by putting lemon & ice in it, couldn't almost convince myself it was a G&T. Seemed to work as managed weeks without a drop INCLUDING weekends

Also depends if you are giving it up because it is beginning to worry you, or you are just giving up social drinking to aid fitness etc.
I'd imagine both require different solutions.
