People are stupid
Some idiot has complained to the council about my hedge blocking the pavement that runs alongside my house, which on the face of it sounds reasonable.
But:
a) why couldn't they come and see me if they had a problem with it (it's not that bad, I just haven't cut back the start of this springs growth)
and
b) it's obvious that I'm in the middle of digging out the bloody thing anyway.
The council have also sent me a nice map of my house showing that I need to clear a whole section that includes an electricity substation. Er, I don't think I own that, if I do I want rent from Manweb.

I'm not a mindless thug, but I'm bloody annoyed. Luckily, the blurb the council sent to me tells me that if there's a birds nest in my hedge I can't touch it until summer.
I'm *think* I can see a birds nest

You think thats bad? A woman tried to get me a petition to sign to stop someone from having their loft conversion done saying that it'll bring more cars and that people love speeding. Naturally I said no as I'm actually all for this if its going to increase the price of my property when I sell it in a years time. I also said that it was the chavs from the council estate down the bypass that uses our place as a test track.
And I also didnt understand the logic how you can equate a loft conversion with more cars. Having said that, I have this stinking feeling that she's the one "annonymous" person that tried to get my loft conversion denied.

I think all bushes should be well trimmed.
No one likes an untidy bush.
If there are birds nesting in your bush, youve go problems. The fact that they are there shows that the growth it far too thick.
Worse still you could have eggs nestling in there, eggs in the bush signals trouble to come.
Your lucky though, theres one thing worse than a overgrown bush, and thats a smelly bush.
Best to get rid of all the growth, it reveils the contours of the land, its more accessable, lower maintanence, and helps keep the flies away.
As for the thread title......Yes, I know.
Later Yoza (privett trimmer specialist)
Brazillian anyone ?

Councils and councillers (sp?)
Moved into a house (house-sitting for a friend) got a snotty letter for parking the car on the driveway as there was no lowered kerb. Threats of court summons etc.
Find out a counciller lives next door and has already refused an application for a lowered kerb. This was probably refused due to the fact my friend asked him to move his satellite dish as it was installed too low in my friends garden.
Abuse of power?
