neighbourhood militia
anyone here ever think of getting rid of the neds, yobs and teenagers that cause the problems in the neighbourhood and make life unbearable for people and elders
i was reading a book about scotland over 50 yrs ago, that if their were yobs their werent many and the neighbours all used to get together to sort them out but used to warn them first and the neighbourhoods used to be peaceful
nowadays its sad, the minority of yobs scare the majority of people and people dont make a stand against a handful of yobs and neds, we can overcome them and yes it may lead to a war , but we need to reclaim the streets
what do u guys think

The police dont look favourably on this sort of thing.
If you have a group of yoofs about your property, and you decide enough is enough. Youve tried the nice approach, to no avail. So you go medievel on them. You will find that the snivelling little ******* know the compensation laws inside out. They have claims direct stored on speed dial, and before you know it Mr plod is on your doorstep issuing you with a summons to appear at your local magistates court.
Best thing to do is set dags on them........help, scream, woof woof, screech, howl, gnash gnash, please, please, yelp, scream, gurgle.......silence.
Excellent.

Moses is absolutely right, until communities unite and say enough is enough we will continue to live in fear of gangs of 14 year old chavs. It doesn't have to take the form of physical violence, there are other ways.

Yeah good point Moses.
It's not right when there's so few of them and so many of us. It's time they were scared of us not the other way round. Sadly it's gonna be tough without one or two changes in the law and a police force that patrols the streets instead of persecuting motorists.
Every time I see a group of Chavs lurking on the street corner intimidating people, I wish I had an AK 47.

Who's scared of them?
They are only 14 and would **** their nappies - you locate the leader and take him/her out .... the rest are there for a laugh, they don't want aggro - when their leader is lying blubbing you can go about your business!
They're just kids!

I was brought up in an era when respect to your elders was expected and given.
There appears to be no respect anywhere.
The fact that the police would frown upon a community response should not stop residents doing what is necessary
This low life have elected to cause much pain and suffering to older members of the community - they should be hurt and taught respect.

The thing with respect is that it has to be rightly or wrongly earned! One approach could be that it is to late to have an effective result on a group but individually you may win them over to respecting others in there community. Only by positive interaction with their elders will they see that there is another way that can be just as fun as being in a large crowd of yoots on da loot and given time will lead onto more opportunities of positive self development.
What ever approach is taken being proactive is what will win the day, it is no good setting up a youth centre and only offering table tennis you have to offer something that they would not normally have access to. There bad behaviour is as a direct result of there 'elders' ineffective parenting and community participation. Act and treat them as if you don't care and they will be the same back only ten times as worse. When it comes to children you really do get back what you put in. This is not about proportioning blame at only there parents. Everyone goes through different levels of self development. The trouble begins when people get stuck in one stage and are unable to move onto the next. If you just go about removing the head from the Chicken and take the leader out then another head will just take its place. Without a reason to develop there will be no development. If people can see tangible benefits to conforming then they will ultimately conform. The only trouble being the time frame that this conforming takes place in, may be to long for anyone to become involved in active community participation. If you just want them to disperse to another area I would say that you are just propagating the problem onto someone else and it is only when someone turns around and actually try's to do something of positive benefit for this group will its perceived threat be countered. Perhaps you could even say that by doing nothing to change their attitudes, that you are just as anti-community minded as they are currently being.

A size nine up the @r5e never done me any harm (ok couldn't sit down for a short amount of time :O) I agree it's time the law-abiding citizen got back what it pays to the so-called goverment, i.e. protection from these neds, unfortunately I can forsee a change in public opinion and Vigilantes becoming more common, now where did I put that birch-whip
