That bloody "BRAKE" woman
Really does my head in. Mary Williams believes all motorists are criminals and are responsible for all the ills of the world. She will not listen to reasoned arguments.

I agree with everything you've said, shes said her piece and now refuses to listen to reasoned arguments backed up with factual evidence to the contrary.
I don't agree with the death threats though, its hardly that serious.

It is often the case, people pick up on small parts of the bigger picture, take them out of context and then cling to them vehemently and will not be swayed. Member of the flat earth brigade if you ask me.
In Nottingham, when the first SPECS cameras went up, they went up where a child had been killed and they asked the mother along to see it and make a statement. The point that was missed is that her child was killed by a drunk driver doing less than the speed limit and SPECS would have done absolutely nothing to save her child. If I had been her I would have gone along and played merry hell demanding bobbys on the road not cameras. Becasue these damn things have been labelled "Safety" cameras, people think that they make the roads safer, which of course they patently don't otherwise the numbers killed on our roads would have decreased more raidly since they were introduced rather than increasing which is what has happened.

I heard it on GMTV a few weeks back, but hearing her whinge on about driving tired this morning put her back into my mind.
Driving tired is a problem, I agree, so is speeding, to an extent.
However, her attitude that all motorists are criminals and should be given heavy sentences for minor crimes really gets on my wick.

I believe it was some comments made on the PistonHeads website which were taken out of context (pretty much like OllyK's comment
