I thought that "talkin with myself" was one of her better choons....
But the best was "Got to have your love"
I've had the pleasure of working on an album with the guys behind Mantronix, and the stories they told me about Billy......
Suffice to say that artists of that caliber have a whole side to them that make you think is it all worth it?

Yea. Billie Ray was a 'proper' adult artist. Not like the old pap that's around these days. ScoobyDoo555 - I'd love to hear those stories.

I first heard 'put your loving arms around me' in Ayia Napa(or was it Rhodes???)about seven years ago and I fell in love with it.Its the only CD which is always in my car. I would'nt say its the best 'Rave' tune but its a haunting melody.

i prefered billie ray cyrus!
NOT!! put your loving arms around me, was indeed a classic, and i had the remix on a mix tape where the intro lasted for ages,
also love the 99 reminx of talking with myself, the sub in the car goes mental!

BTW - does anybody remember she did a live performance once on Later With Jools Holland? I'd love to see that again. Anyone know if it is on a compilation anywhere?

I saw her in 1990 fronting Electribe 101 supporting Erasure at the Milton Keynes Bowl, along with Adamski, Seal, and Was not Was. They were by far the best support band and their album has some very good tracks on it. I saw her about 6 years ago playing a Jazz/Acapella set in Camden Town. Was a bit disappointed she didn't play her hits there but it was advertised as an acapella gig . She went quiet after her last album bombed (She was aiming for the american market with it and it was a bit country) and I'm not sure if she has gone back since to her roots in Hamburg.

I just been looking at her website http://www.billieraymartin.com/ and she's looking to rent a flat in London for £80 per week or less in the new year. I did write and receive a letter off her a few years ago when I was trying to find out about a gig listing when she was aiming for the American market. It struck me that irrespective of your ability, its a very tough game to be in, and her quest for the big time made this apparent to me.

The Electribe 101 chillout version of Talking With Myself is awesome.
Dont think Put Your Loving Arms is anywhere near the best rave tune tho. What about....
Jimi Polo - Tears
Thompson Twins - Come Inside
Photon Inc - Generate Power
Orbital - Chime
