as per - views?

is this a fair representation of the police force as a whole, given the evidence so far?

I work for Greater Manchester Police and no those are not my views and I suspect (but cannot speak for) they are also not the views of my colleagues.

I have not seen the documentary (like the rest of GMP including the command) and have only heard soundbites on the BBC who made the documentary and who are already embroiled in other matters. I think that the BBC have been underhand in this, I also think that the people involved if they have said what is alleged are worse but I will reserve judgement until I have seen the programme.

I do not really appreciate being labelled as a 'Racist' or and 'ar$e' and I am sure that the vast majority of GMP would agree, I would imagine that if you took any organisation, you would find sentiments like what is alleged will be in the documentary if you dig deep enough. Regrettable but true.

WHEN ARE the police going to wake up and smell the coffee??

They are losing public support hand over fist!

And most drivers know why. The old old excuse of "our political masters" is beginning to sound a bit like "ve vere only obeyink orders!"

I just read that apparently I'm racist, due to my choice of career.

....

same as I'm a boy racer as I drive a fast car.

I love stereotyping.

not saying that there aren't racists in my job - as I'm sure there are in any other line of work - but I personally take offence at being called one, just because of what I want to do as a living.

Right ok, for a start I am not actually a Police Officer, I work for GMP (in IT), I dont condone what has been said but the BBC are out for RATINGS, pure and simple, it wouldnt have been such a coup if they had identified that racist language and terms had been used on a building site, in a shop or on the railways, no, because the previous Chief Constable said that the force is 'Institutionally Racist' the BBC decided to go to the trouble of putting a journalist in undercover who over his months on the force wearing covert camera equipment managed to get enough material for a documentary, like yourselves I am eager to see the documentary and will judge for myself but it really annoys me when people decide you are racist based on who employs you, I have never come across any racism whilst working for GMP, in fact I have seen more on Scoobynet over the last few years, I dont blame Scoobynet for the odd ill advised post and it is well moderated but you cant legislate as an organisation for the crap that spouts forth from people mouths every minute of the day.

Making this documentary public in the way that it has been (very sensasionalised) is only going to make the public more and more distrusting of the police.

The last thing we need is to make the public even more negative about the police. P!sses me right off. Should have been a public enquiry, not trial by TV. The people / person in question should be punished for saying some of the things I've read. But now (some) people are going to think all police share his neanderthal views. Where is that going to get anyone?

P.S. Not a cop, and previously totted up 11pts and ban so got plenty of reasons not to like the plod.
