'Backyard Wrestling' OMG !
#1
Anyone heard of this, do a search on Google and you will be amazed and appalled by what you get, basically nutters in their back yards (hence the name) maiming each other, wrestling but with the inclusion of staple guns and fire, cool in a kind of glad its not me, god thats stupid kind of way, but disturbing as well.
Saw a video of one guy beating the **** out of his own face with his fists which reminded me of a time in Kavos when this random drunken guy decided he wanted to fight me (maybe cos I am big-ish) and when I wouldnt retailiate he proceeded to smash his own face in by banging it on a sort of fence that consisted of concrete pillars and what I can only describe as scaffold poles, he repeatedly smashed his face on it, blood and gore everywhere, his teeth were coming out, hideous and terrifying and I have thought about it quite a lot since it happened 12 years ago, that one night and me not fighting may have caused him to be brain damaged and certainly disfigured cos I couldnt have inflicted that much damage ?
So this lot made think there must be a gene that controls this behaviour ?
If anybody knows a short Scottish called Rob I think with tattoos, a lumpy face and little in the way of front teeth tell him I am sorry for not letting him beat the crap out of me.

As the resident expert on wrestling I think your find that my kind condone this sort of thing as truly appalling. Backyard wrestling has claimed lives in the US and caused serious injuries to those involved. Normally run by children and those that can't be bothered to train for the "real" (excuse the pun) thing it's an utter disgrace to the industry.
I can’t see many fans buying the game as the majority of us hate this rubbish. It’s the jackass equivalent of wrestling and watching it only vindicates the idiots involved!

J4CKO, I have total respect for amateur wrestlers! The majority of the pro's started as amateurs and I wish I could do it!
This is where I lose all respect
I've never done actual wrestling in the sense that I was billed against an opponent but it’s always been my dream! Basically I've been a wrestling fan for about 12 years, I've done radio commentary for British events, refereeing for British events, I've met the WWF(now WWE roster), even had a drink with the late, great British Bulldog and 2 years ago I started training to become a pro wrestler. Then it all went to hell when I found out I had kidney disease and my specialist warned me stepping into the ring may end up killing me.
So, now I just follow it from a fans perspective. The disappointment of not being able to actually do it has pushed me away and I’ve gone from going to every event I possibly could to catching it on a Friday and Saturday night.
I suppose backyard wrestling annoys me so much because they could be doing what I would kill to but instead they waste it by making into a joke. It's a shame.

Unfortunetly the program was full of errors but I hope it reinforced what I was saying. I doubt it put off any potential Backyarders from doing this, infact it probably encouraged them.
What they need to do, as documented is to go to a repeatable federation such as the FWA in Portsmouth and learn how to wrestle, and then limit their actions to a "real" ring, and not the playground.
