OMG, just gone from a GeF2 MX and Athlon 1.3 to a GeF4 Ti and P4 2.53
Q3 and UT just turn them up to 1280*1024 in 32 bit and full detail, incredible
Not been much into the games recently, but it is cold, and I need to go Xmas shopping for myself - I like first person shooters and have ADSL. Recommendations please...
Also, what is a sensible setting for antialiasing and anisotropic filtering... setting them to max everything slowed things down a bit, but at that res didn't really see any difference?
Also have onboard sound, through some nice big hi fi speakers (just stereo) and a proper amp - is it worth using my Creative 128 PCI soundcard instead of Intel onboard 845GE sound? The graphics are much sharper even in GUI and text with the GeF compared with the onboard video

Im playing hitman 2 at the moment which isnt the greatest game graphically (it isnt bad just not cutting edge) but if you want something a bit more interesting than running around shooting anything that moves then its well worth a look IMHO.

same here m8, had an old celeron 300 overclocked to 450 on an abit board and upgraded to one of the new abit kx333 boards. stuck an athlon 1.8Ghz over clocked to 2.1 GHz and a GeForce 4600 Ti. replaying Medal of Honour @ 1280 x 1024 and it runs as smooth as a baby's ****. Also playing Mafia atm and this is running pretty slick as well.
other games you might want to take another look at now you have a good gaming rig are Soldier of Fortune2ouble Helix, Unreal Tournament and Hitman.
