anyone growing sunflowers atm?

I was wondering what was the flowering season for sunflowers?
I have grown them from seed but didnt plant them till late july. They have grown around 3ft & have buds on them but as its September now, i fear the flowering season may be over & that they wont open.

Give me some good news, theyll flower wont they?....

I think you've missed the boat for this year old chap.. Ours flowered within a few weeks of planting them

got a few strays in my garden and they are just flowering. Should be quite warm towards end of week there is hope

There's a couple round the corner from me that must be 15 feet high. I'll get a piccy of them this eve (if I remember)

Yep you've missed it mate - my kids efforts grew to about 15ft - plenty of sun required so dont think we're gonna get much of that now for this year!

woohoo its been sunny for the past 2 days so theyre coming out. ye of little faith well ok i see the yellow petals coming out more so its doing its best It is going abit brown & wilty, mind. Best i water it eh
