Dude - its nowt to worry about! Only an hour max - plus the forecast is for high pressure therefore it will be calm with minimal swell

Cheers

Big assed boats on the channel are fine. I once bobbed about in the Bay of Biscay for 27 hours in a Force 9 - everyone was calm til the staff said we couldnt make it back cos it was too rough and dangerous

Oooops maybe I should be quiet now

Only an hour max
Unless they close the port and you have to wait at sea like the other day...

Arron - P&O from Dover are very good, they are big boats and even in a bit of bad weather they are quite stable. Have had nightmare trips on the Sally Line from Ramsgate tho !!!

I will be on the cross channel ferry later from Dover on my way to Assen !

Birdy,

Light S - SE winds on Friday and there won't be much swell about either. OK, chance of a storm at the moment, but they will be imports from France, hence convective jobbies so might get a bit gusty, but won't affect sea conditions.

You have to be careful about drinking loads on a ferry. I once travelled to Hook of Holland, (6 hours ?). And was sitting at the bar most of the way drinking. A few hours out, thought I had better sober up a bit so asked the barman for a coffee. Being Dutch with a good sense of humour he snapped back as fast as you like "Irish Coffee ?". "Oh, go on then" I say

Cheers

Ian

So I have nothing to worry about then Ian.
Should be sweet.
Just have to build myself up for the return crossing

Birdy

Try http://www.xcweather.co.uk

If you click on an arrow it gives you current wind and recent wind speed history. The ones in the channel even give wave height.

Also covers France.
