RONIN.. Tonight. One of the best chase scene ever

I've always felt that the chase with the S8 (don't forget there was a 605, an XM & a 680SEL in there too) was just the appetiser for the second chase, with the 405 & the 535 through Paris.
Frankenheimer pioneered the idea - now used by most directors - of putting the star in the left hand side of a UK spec car with a dummy steering wheel. De Niro's face when that 405 is flying round the Paris underpasses is brilliant, he is hanging on to that wheel whilst simultaneously filling his shorts
I don't reckon the film itself was that bad either. Let's face it, it's better scripted than the Italian Job. and you won't find any bloke over 30 on here prepared to slag THAT off

How can a Citroen XM keep up with an Audi S8 (with bigger injectors and NOS)???
Fab film, but it's like racing a Scooby against a TT
Fab film otherwise though.......

Yer it was an S8. What pissed me off was the whole bit about trying to ram the Citroen off the road which seemed a bit of a hit and miss idea.
I personally didnt like the bits with Robert De Niro driving - he was doing that usual movie thing by constantly moving the steering wheel left and right even when travelling dead straight.
Simon.

Also, according to Parkers website, the XM was available as 3L V6 @ 200 BHP and the 24 valve derivative could do 0-60 in 7.5 and 146 flatout!
Not bad for a floaty old Franco-barge.
