Caught at 94 oops
#1
Hi all,
First speeding ticket ever yesterday, got caught joining the motorway at 94. Bit annoying cos I was literally accelerating onto the motorway and joining the flowing traffic(other people around me doing similar speeds)
Anyway, its a fair cop I guess. The thing is I didnt realise the apparent significance of 95 - the copper said that if theyd got me any faster I would have gone to court, got a ban etc etc. So watch out when your flirting around that speed, I know I will.

Feel sorry for you got pulled by a car equipped with Vascar several years ago and luckily got off with it, 50 in a 40 mph area at dead of night no traffic and lots of grovelling !
Sorry but there are no known radar or gps detectors that can detect vascar.
PS did not know the significance of 95 + mph on motorway !

My friend got caught @120 on the way to doncastor last week, copper said he timed him between lines??
Copper also said as it was early morning and conditions were good he'd prolly get off with points and a fine without going to court.
He said the days when that speed was an instant ban have gone and he is always catching peeps going over 100.
Cant see him getting away without a ban though myself.

Vascar can't be detected as it's a timing system, it doesn't give off any form of signal. How can you detect what is effectively someone sitting in a car behind you with a stopwatch?

Due to pathetic and archane speed laws which i regularly break if conditions environment etc allow, i have been nicked doing 100.3 mph on a sparse motorway. Its been 6 weeks since it happened and im not holding my breath on a speedy court appearance.
So many people i know and fed up to the back teeth with this clampdown on speed, and quite frankly the situation is farcical. Ill wager that the amount of people being nicked for dangerous driving etc is below that of 10 years ago, and these are the types of people likely to cause accidents, not speeding when its 'safe' to do so on roads engineered to take a poxy 70 mph and then some limit with ease in cars that are far and away superior to the 5hite that was wheezing around 30 years ago.
My estimation of police is way down there now, esp with all these sneaky tactics and money grabbing attitudes. Go solve some real crime, like the £1500 of bodykit that was stolen off my car and plod didnt even want to know. Makes me sick.
Rant off for now.
