Car hire.
Two one way hires of a group 1 car.
Got to be cheaper than £100 for parking. And peace of mind, would you leave your Scooby at Heathrow for 2 weeks ?.

Depending what time your flight leaves (and therefore how early you'd have to get up) it might be worth looking at a hotel and parking deal. When we went for our honeymoon to Cuba (nearly a year ago ) we stayed in an airport hotel the night before and had two weeks parking all for just over £80. Well worth it!

Purple parking charge around £6 per day upto 15 days, after that it's free
AND WHATEVER YOU DO - if the car park attendant says the car park is full and you will have to leave the keys with them so they can park DRIVE AWAY and park somewhere else..
Mate left his 328 cconvertible with them, he got it back with no petrol in it and an extra few miles on it... gawd knows what they did to it..

I'd second the book online via www.baa.co.uk
What's the problem with parking a scoob at heathrow? or any airport? I've left mine at Gatwick, Heathrow and Luton for up to 3 weeks with no problems at all. OK, it was not the most nickable to scoobs, but come on! Stop being so ****. You're care is as likley to be damaged/nicked sitting at home as it is in a carpark, ok, maybe a little more risky, but is that not what we pay insurance for?
sorry to rant, I loved my scoob, but if it got to a point where I worried where I parked it then i think it'd be time to re-evalutae my sanity. It's only a car!

Agree with Markus. I have a classic X reg scoob and I've parked many times at Heathrow over the last few years. I've always used the baa website with no problems. There are usually several other scoobs parked there too. The only problem I remember was some poor guy on scoobynet with a STI7 whose car acquired a knock in one of the Heathrow car parks. IIRC it was done by a van driver sliding on ice - not very likely now...

seriously don't use BAA parking......I rememver reading a thread where they wrecked some poor sods pride and joy manual 928, his all time dream car and these nomarks destroyed it. THen tried to squirm out of paying. It will be safer in a hotel car park and you get to start your journey fully refreshed.

A mate of mine swears by this. He parks in the airport carpark, flies off comes back, goes to the machine pushes the button again for another ticket then pays for 1 hour and goes home happy.

I don't really wanna pay out £100 for two weeks parking!!
The problem I have is I have to get to my girl friends house in Dunstable (Luton) which is only about 30mins to Heathrow. If I drive to hers in my scoob (an hour from my house to hers) I will have to leave it parked on side of the road outside her house for two weeks which I don't want to do!!
So I can either get a lift to her house (Scoob safely tucked up at home) then we can get train from luton-london-heathrow or pay £100 for car park and leave scoob in air port car park just seems allot of money plus they won't cover your car for damage either!! Taxi from Girl friends house to Heathrow probably will be about same for a return trip
Our flight is at 12 noon so won't have to get up at a silly time so not really any need for hotel/car park deal.
BARRYBUDDEN: Now that sounds a good idea!!! but I guess the car park your probably talking about is the short stay multistory? bit risky leaving it in there for two weeks ain't it?

I regularly use Parking Express (the last one before the big BA hangars). Had no problems getting a space and the car is always there when i get back after long trips.
Paid 56 quid for 5 days last time i went. Regular buses to all terminals too.

Check out some of the hotels, we stayed in the Le Meridien - 4 star real nice and got 2 weeks car parking thrown in for free - it worked out just as cheap and easier than getting parking on its own, esp a we had to be at the airport at 5am.
