The Denon D-M30 has been the What hi-fi winner for the last 3 years.

Have you had a look at those wharfdale flat speakers? they look like pictures and hang on the wall in a picture-like way. Haven't heard them but they are supposed to sound ok... all things considered, that is.

If you have a hi-fi in the house allready why don't you run a second pair of speakers off the main system. If you want some thing invisible go for a ceiling speaker. Incase you thnk that hey won't sound good we do ceiling speakers from £150 to £10k a pair.
You could allways control the volume via a rotary control on the wall.
The next step up would be to use a multi room amplifier in addition to the main hi-fi this would power two further rooms.
Have a look here http://www.bestpricetv.com/Multi_Room_Amplifiers.html

My mate has one of those Bose cd clock radio type things, and it fills a large room with very good quality sound. I think they are about £350 though (a lot for a clock radio!). Check it out anyway.

But Luke, im not a stereo geek, so it sounds fine to me, in fact, having listened to that and a denon, i cant tell the difference soundwise at all, and it looks way better than the denon, so
p.s my local currys also stocked Denon, and TEAC!
