Default Replacing clutch - Should I do the flywheel?

I'm getting a bit of mixed info regarding this. I'm about to replace the clutch on my 2003 WRX wagon. It's a PPP wagon, but other than that there's no other performance upgrades. I'm fitting an Exedy blue box clutch. I don't plan on upping the power any time soon.

I've read from various sources that I can get my flywheel re-surfaced/skimmed. I don't know what my flywheel looks like, I haven't got that far yet. I've also been told that I should replace the flywheel. Something about micro-cracks and stress fractures etc etc.

What are my options here? Do I:

a) Buy a second hand flywheel, get it re-surfaced
b) Stick with my current flywheel, don't worry about it
c) Buy a new OEM/lightened (depending on what I can find)

Money is a factor, unfortunately. I hadn't realised there would be potential extra costs involving the flywheel.

Either way, my clutch is slowly on the way out, and it needs doing soon.

I think I've also maybe cocked up. I ordered a 230mm Exedy clutch. Would my existing flywheel even fit? Does the Blob WRX have 230mm standard or is that an STI specific thing?

new-age WRX uses a 230mm std clutch so no issue............
we normally re-surface std flywheels as long as they dont have any extreme damage

Thanks for the info. I ended up ordering a new flywheel, as I don't know if mine has ever been replaced and I have nearly 160k miles on the clock. I can't really have the car off the road so ended up ordering OEM. At least I'll know the deal next time!
