Question

Anyone know any good quality romantic restaurants in the Birmingham, Bromsgrove, Solihull, Stourbridge or similar areas with convenient safe parking? French or Italian would be good but please not a balti...

Cheers, J

Merlin,

I've just finished a year stint in Solihull on business, so I know every resturant in the town centre very well!

Not a great choice:

* Fat Cats (on the pedestrian shopping area, near the church)
Probably the best place in that area. Fairly nicely decorated, with decent quality food (specialising in fish usually) - not definately any food style, just influences from various places. Not cheap though. Tends to have a mixture of business people and groups, but there are couples there too.

* Cafe Rouge
Say no more.

* Shilma Pinks
Attempt at a "posh" curry house - not bad if you want curry.

* Jade Wok
OKish chinese.

I think that is just about it around the town centre in Solihull (there was a French place, but it closed and is now another curry place).

Parking is OK in Warwick Road multi - I've left my Subaru in there without any probs (although only in the day).

Hope that helps,

Christian

Merlin,

What about a great quality pub?

If so then just out of Solihull, near Lapworth is a pub called the Fleur de Lys, in Lowsonford. Great food, nice ales, friendly and right next to the canal. Used to work there and definitely recommend it.

The Bull's Head in Wooten Wowen (sp), just down the road from Henly-in-Arden (and a Scoob garage . Nice pub, nice area and great steaks.

Parking not a problem at either, but if go to Fleur, then be warned as car park fills up quickly.

Cheers,
Tom

I think Fat Cats is probably the nicest within Solihull itself....
On the Pub angle..... safe parking and *great* food...what about the Red Lion in Wythall.. highly recommended.
