Just been involved in a little "incident" i wondered what other people would have done in the same situation.
Someone alerted us of a dodgy looking van in the car park eyeing up a motorbike parked just outside, at work we have a large car park out front which is overlooked by the office windows on the 1st floor, myself and a collegue watched the van out of the window for a moment as it sat there with an ajetated driver looking around. The van then revesed into a position just in front of the bike and sat for a second then the rear doors flew open and two more got out and made a grab for the bike, at this point I shouted and they all shat themselves and made a very quick escape. w@nkers came to mind  With hinesight i wish i had grabbed the digi cam and photographed / videoed them in action!
What would you have done? Numerous things were going through my mind at the time
1, Confront them just as they were nicking it probably get into a fight maybe get stabbed etc etc all for a 1500 quid bike then get prosecuted afterwards
2, Chuck something out of the window preferably large to **** them up big time and maybe hit one of them and get prosecuted afterwards
3, Do nothing and shout at them like i did phone the police when they come next week explain all reg. car etc etc
4, Sneakily Block them in with an arctic lorry - if only
Broke

Oh, and if your in and around Nottingham keep em peeled for a White Renault combi van -J57* DVO- dirty with three dodgy occupents.
(I`m sure i`d get told off for putting up the full reg) if not let me know.

Probabyl the same as you did, without the shouting... Would probably have phoned the police, given them the reg number and hoped someone else would confront them.

Being a short-stop and female, it's not wise for me to confront 3 blokes.

The owner of the bike will be grateful to you that's for sure!!

I would have probably done the same. You did the right thing by making them aware they were being watched - getting it on camera would have been good but hindsight really is a wonderful thing.

It's a shame there aren't more around like you mate.

Good on ya. Take it you've phoned the police? The van will no doubt be stolen, so they might be interested to hear where it was last seen.

Might be worth popping a note on the bike as well to warn the owner to be more careful?

Oh, as for the number plate, I think you should give the full plate details - why hide it if it's dodgy!

BTW the owner of the bike works in the factory he has a couple of pints to buy, he phoned the police straight away himself.
I have later learned they had already bust the lock on the motorbike so it would be drivable AND they had been scoping cars next door!!! Yesterday there was my McRAE and a P1 next to where the bikes are parked! Scary thought.
Its not the first time its happened a scooter got pinched not long back from the same spot, its the cheek of it I dont understand, broad daylight take what you want probably never worked in there life!!! If its not bikes its Diesel from the lorrys.
I`m on my soap box now, on Monday there was two "kids" wondering round the factory when someone confronted them they said "what the ***`s it got to do with you"???!!!!
Thanx for the comments I`m just glad the bikes still with the owner, the chances of catching them are very slim I would think - unfotunatly

Yes ,i would have done what you did,you never know what might have happend if you had gone outside

On another note, last night on our way back from food shopping we spotted a black Fiesta that looked a bit dodgy,
as it came closer we saw that the nearside wing had been neally ripped off(it was flapping about),only 1 headlamp was there,it had a nearside flat tyre and this guy was giving it some round a roundabout!!!
we got his reg and phoned the police, who were quite pleased that we phoned.

It looked to me that this guy was either doing a runner from a crash or was drunk and had crashed and shot off.
You dont know what he might have done,if it was my car he crashed into i hope that other people would do what i did and called the police.

Has the company not got CCTV in the car park ? I think we're quite licky to have a fully CCTV covered car park (with nightvision!) so don't worry too much about leaving the car there.
