I see mate. Nah, I used to bank with the one that uses Samuel L Jackson to do their adverts too (same bank as DrEvil is talking about above) - moved from them to FD.

My bank (HSBC) helpfully cancelled my switch debit card last Thursday.

It was an administrative mistake, so they immediately reordered a new one. Unfortunately, they didn't notify me, so the first I knew about it was yesterday when I went to pay for something with the card.

Bankers. Absolute total bankers.

MarkO - unbelievable!

Well it would seem they may have accidently shutdown one of my accounts! And I only ever seem to get a call returned if I call head office each time and tell them I want account manager to call me! Its doing my head in!

I'm going to see where the ground lies with the next call - and depending on outcome... I might use the word OMBUSMAN (sp! - my spellink is cad)...

I'd use the word 'Ombudsman' if I were you. It'll have a much better effect.

I used to bank with them and agree, they are totally useless.

By contrast, First Direct are absolutely brilliant and I'd recommend them to anyone. I found moving my account to be an excellent way to let off steam and give a two fingered solute...

Merkin -

I know that , I can only speak as I find. Whenever there has been a problem, they have always fallen over themselves to make amends.

Whereas other banks just don't give a t0$$...

I've always (15+ years) banked with Barclays and have always found them to be brilliant. They've always helped when I've needed them and haven't made many mistakes. They've refunded money taken fraudulently from my account, without question.
